Year 13 Media Studies EVALUATION QUESTIONS - Due friday 27th MARCH

  1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

  1. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

  1. What have you learned from your audience feedback?

  1. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Videos (these can take the form of audio commentary over your final product)

This accounts for 10 marks of you final grade and might be the difference between grade boundaries.

Year 13 Media Studie: Music Video BLOG

This is what you should have on your coursework blogs (in no particular order):
 1. Notes on the history of music video and Goodwin's theory
 2. Analysis (applying Goodwin) of 99 Problems (as completed in class) 
3. Your own Goodwin analysis of a video of your choice 
4. Cross-media promotion case study of a recording artist/band of your choice 
5. Notes on Adorno & Horkheimer and research into artist/s that do/don't follow the theory 
6. Notes on independent vs mainstream record labels and research into an indie/mainstream artist 
7. Your chosen brief and initial response to it 

8. Research into your chosen genre and Goodwin analysis of SEVERAL music videos (including your favourite) within that genre, commenting on their use of codes & conventions
9. DIGIPACK complete (analysis, poster, your own)
10. Storyboards/shot list
11. Animatics
12. Location Scouts/Production schedule
13. Costume decisions
14. Moodboards
15. A DETAILED RECORD of every step of your PRODUCTION
16. A DETAILED RECORD of every step of your POST-PRODUCTION:
- Editing
Feedback (and what you are going to change/do as a result of it)
17. Music Video Director case study
18. Target Audience profile
19. Pitch/presentation video(s) and Feedback



Once all of this is complete there are 4 sections of construction you are marked on:

1) Film Journal 
2) The music Video
3) Dikipack and Poster
4) Evaluation
